Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Quranova mobile app and website ("Quranova"), operated by 8x Social Inc. ("we", "us"). By using Quranova you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Quranova.

1. What Quranova is

Quranova is a Qur'an companion app. Its central feature is an AI assistant that matches your question against a corpus of Qur'an translation, tafsir (scholarly commentary), well-established Sunnah and a biography of the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم, and generates an answer with citations. It also provides a Qur'an reader with translation, a daily verse, prayer times and prayer tracking, reminders, a Qibla compass, a tasbeeh counter, a Hijri calendar and home-screen widgets.

2. Important: AI-generated content, not religious rulings

Quranova's answers are generated by artificial intelligence. They are for information and reflection only. Quranova is not a scholar, does not issue religious rulings (fatwa), and is not a substitute for a qualified scholar or religious authority. AI can be inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading, and may misattribute or misinterpret verses. For matters of religious practice, ruling, or personal or spiritual difficulty, consult a qualified scholar. Do not rely on Quranova for medical, legal, financial, or other professional advice, and do not rely on it in an emergency.

If you believe an answer is wrong, harmful, or misleading, please use the report-an-answer feature in the app so we can review it.

3. Eligibility and your account

You must be at least 13 years old to use Quranova. You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email, or with Sign in with Google or Sign in with Apple. You are responsible for keeping access to that email or account secure, and for activity under your account. Signing in by a different method creates a separate Quranova account rather than opening an existing one.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use Quranova for anything unlawful, or to harass, harm, or abuse others.
  • Attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer, scrape, or gain unauthorized access to the service or its underlying systems.
  • Circumvent free-tier limits, entitlement checks, or other technical protections.
  • Misrepresent Quranova's AI-generated answers as authoritative religious rulings, or present them to others as the verified position of a scholar.

5. Free tier, the free trial, and Quranova Plus

Access to Quranova is a single tier: apart from the free allowance described below, the features of the app, including the Qur'an reader and its translation, require an active free trial or a Quranova Plus subscription. This is a limit on our software only. It is not a claim over the Qur'an, which you are free to read anywhere and by any means.

  • Free tier (existing accounts, and everyone before the change). 3 grounded AI answers in total (a lifetime allowance, not a daily one that refreshes), plus the most recent 30 days of your question history. A session that has not yet created an account may ask 1 of these questions, and that is the same allowance rather than an additional one. Answers requested during the free trial also draw on this allowance, so an account that uses its trial may have fewer of them, or none, remaining when the trial ends.
  • One free answer. Every account may receive one grounded AI answer before subscribing, counted over the whole life of the account.
  • Free trial on the yearly plan. The yearly Quranova Plus subscription begins with a 7-day free trial, offered and billed by the Apple App Store or Google Play. The store asks for a payment method to start the trial, and when the trial ends it converts automatically into a paid yearly subscription at the price shown to you, unless you cancel it in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings at least 24 hours before the trial ends. Nothing is charged during the trial. Whether you are eligible (for example, if you have had a trial before) and whether the trial is offered in your country are decided by the store, which shows you the exact offer before you confirm. The monthly plan has no free trial.
  • Earlier versions of the app. Versions of Quranova before 1.4 offered a free trial granted by Quranova itself rather than by the store: 3 days for a new account and 7 days for an account that existed before Quranova became a paid app, at 3 grounded AI answers per day. That trial requires no payment method, creates no subscription and never converts into one; nothing is charged when it ends, and it is granted once per account. From version 1.4 it is no longer offered, and a trial of that kind that had already started runs to its natural end.
  • Without a subscription. Outside a subscription or a trial, the account is locked: one grounded AI answer in the whole life of the account, counting any already given during a trial, and the rest of the app, including the Qur'an reader and its translation, waits until a subscription starts. This allowance does not refresh, daily or otherwise, for as long as the account stays unsubscribed. Anything you saved stays saved and is there when you return.
  • Quranova Plus. A paid subscription including the full Qur'an with its English translation and the verse of the day, 10 grounded AI answers per day, reset at local midnight, together with prayer times and prayer tracking, reminders, home-screen widgets, the Qibla compass, the tasbeeh counter, the Hijri calendar, the Siri shortcut, tafsir-grounded answers, voice input, full conversation memory and unlimited saved history.

Features and limits may change over time, and a change may reduce what a tier includes. This has happened: until September 2026 the Qur'an reader, its translation and the verse of the day were outside the paywall, and this section said so. They are not any more. Where a change reduces what an existing account receives, whether it is a free or a paid account, we will give notice in the app before it takes effect.

6. Subscriptions and billing

Quranova Plus is sold as an auto-renewing subscription through the Apple App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android), and is managed on our side through RevenueCat. We never receive or store your card details. When you subscribe:

  • Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google account at confirmation of purchase or, if you started the yearly plan's free trial, when the trial ends, at the price shown to you in your local currency when you confirmed.
  • The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
  • You manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings, not inside Quranova. Deleting the app, or deleting your Quranova account, does not cancel a subscription.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own terms, since they take the payment. Except where required by law or granted by the store, payments are non-refundable.

Prices are set per country and may change. Where this website shows an amount it is a guide for the storefront we resolved from your location, and it may not be the amount you are charged. The exact price for your storefront is shown in the app and on the store listing before you subscribe, and nothing is charged until you choose to subscribe. Any price change applies only to future billing periods.

7. Content and intellectual property

The text of the Qur'an is scripture and is not owned by anyone. The Arabic script shown in Quranova is the Uthmani text of the Tanzil Project, reproduced verbatim and without change: Tanzil Qur'an Text, Copyright © 2007–2021 Tanzil Project, used under the Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 licence. You can follow corrections to that text at tanzil.net.

Quranova presents it alongside third-party works used under their respective terms, including the Saheeh International English translation, the Al-Mukhtasar tafsir (from the Tafsir Center for Quranic Studies), hadith from HadeethEnc.com (Rowad Translation Center), and Ar-Raheeq Al-Makhtum ("The Sealed Nectar") for the life of the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم. Those works remain the property of their respective owners and are attributed within the app. The Quranova name, app, design, and software are ours or our licensors'; these Terms do not grant you rights to them beyond using the service as intended.

Your questions remain yours. By submitting them you grant us the limited right to process them to operate and improve the service as described in our Privacy Policy.

8. Reporting answers

Quranova includes a mechanism to report an answer you believe is wrong or harmful. We review reports to improve answer quality and safety, but we are not obligated to act on any particular report.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

Quranova is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that answers are accurate or complete, or that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, 8x Social Inc. and its providers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, or for any decision you make in reliance on Quranova's answers. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or USD 50.

11. Termination

You may stop using Quranova and delete your account at any time (see the Delete account page). We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or to protect the service or other users.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and any dispute not resolved informally will be subject to the courts located there. Nothing in these Terms removes any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have under the law of your country of residence, which continue to apply.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continued use of Quranova after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
